A FREE TO USE VIDEO CLIP
EXPLORE CITIZEN SCIENCE
During the iDiv Summer School 2019 "Citizen Science – Innovation in Open Science, Society, and Policy" in Leipzig, Germany, we co-created the concept for a free Citizen Science video, which you everyone download and use freely called "Explore Citizen Science".
A FREE CITIZEN SCIENCE VIDEO FOR EVERYONE
Together with the participants and the mentors, we formed the idea to produce something, which has not just a short-lived purpose. We filmed and produced a video clip, that can help Citizen Science platforms and projects to promote their work and spark interest in Citizen Science. Released as Creative Commons, everyone can use the video for free.
To further increase the flexibility of use, we produced three additional clips as short episodes. These bonus clips can serve as video ads for Citizen Science and be included in playlists at conferences or as pre-rolls in other CitSci videos. The videos' goal is to get people who not have yet joined a Citizen Science project curious to discover Citizen Science and start exploring their world.

You can download the original video as *.mp4 file on our Citizen Science blog and use it freely, as long as you include the correct citation of authorship. You can even upload the video to your own YouTube channel or distribute the video on your social media accounts if you cite it correctly:

A WHATSAPP GROUP FOR CITIZEN SCIENCE, AND A NEW PROJECT ON ZOONIVERSE

CITIZEN SCIENCE WHATSAPP GROUP
Inspired by the iDiv Summer School 2019, we have created a new public WhatsApp group to serve as a direct communication channel for all members, stakeholders, and academics in Citizen Science. With the invite link, you can join the new group on your smartphone. It is an experiment at this level; let's see if the new group can kick-off. Of course, if you have any questions about the SPOTTERON apps, you can ask them in the group as well. The communication language will be English.

SPOTTERON MEETS ZOONIVERSE: NESTCAMS
We are very proud to announce that the interactive NestCams project has now officially launched!
NestCams is a Citizen Science Project initialized by our partners at the Core Facility Konrad Lorenz Research Station for Behavior and Cognition (Konrad Lorenz Forschungsstelle). Already 15.000 video clips of nest cam footage are online to be classified by Citizen Scientists. We have set up the project, designed icons and worked as a technical partner in collaboration with the Zooniverse platform.
