In our Citizen Science design studio in Vienna, Austria, we work to create the most advanced Citizen Science platform for providing reliable and high-quality tools in a mobile world. Coming from various backgrounds, our team not only designs and develops Citizen Science applications but also provides support and works together closely with the projects during their whole runtime.

Team Philipp Jonathan Hummer SPOTTERON

Philipp Jonathan Hummer
Design & Project Lead

Already since his childhood, Philipp has been fascinated by nature, especially by entomology and ecology. He had many aquariums and terrariums in his kids-room to observe and learn. Philipp`s background and know-how of design come from long years of practical experience of digital and analog arts.

Team Rainer Holzapfel SPOTTERON

Rainer Holzapfel
Development Lead

Rainer does not only speak code; he also studied Software Engineering & Internet Computing at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). Rainer has been part of the SPOTTERON team from the very start. He also contributes to the design process and platform design for system development.

Team Agnes Milewski SPOTTERON

Agnes Milewski
Media & Community

After studying languages in Vienna, Agnes worked for several NGOs. She is also a musician, songwriter, and lyricist. She is an active participant in Citizen Science apps and takes care of community administration and user support at SPOTTERON.

Team Stefan Holzapfel

Stefan Holzapfel
Development

As a graduate of the software development master's program at the FH Technikum Vienna, Stefan is enthusiastic about cutting-edge web technologies. He joined the development team to support SPOTTERON in delivering the most innovative toolset for citizen scientists.

Team Dominik Essletzbichler

Dominik Essletzbichler
Design & Communication

After attending the Masterclass for Graphic- and Communication design in Linz, AT, Dominik worked in advertising for 15 years before joining the Citizen Science App design team. With his all-round-experience, he completes the creative department of SPOTTERON.

Team Stefan Nachtnebel

Stefan Nachtnebel
Development

Stefan, better known as "Steve" enjoys building high-quality systems and services working in the background. Coming from the payment and telecommunication industry, he joined SPOTTERON to finally craft something for a good purpose.

Team Dors Ortner

Doris Ortner
Design & Communication

Doris is a graphic designer and studied philosophy in Vienna with a focus on animal ethics, environmental ethics, and aesthetics. Since she grew up very close to nature on a small farm, she very much appreciates working for projects whose goal is environmental protection. Now she supports SPOTTERON in design and social media.

Hoai Ivyet Ngo
Project Management

With an academic background in music production and innovation management, Hoai supports SPOTTERON with her creative and organizational skills. Driven by her passion for social and environmental causes, she joined SPOTTERON to contribute to its mission of using technology for positive enivronmental and social impact.
