Horizon Europe is the scientific successor to the Horizon 2020 research framework programme of the European Union, under the leadership of the European Commission. Enhancing research in the fields of climate change, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN, and EU competitiveness are the main goals of Horizon Europe. Furthermore, Horizon Europe aims to strengthen the EU's scientific and technological bases and the European Research Area (ERA) and to boost Europe's innovation capacity, competitiveness, and economy strength. All programmes are focused on delivering on citizen's priorities and sustaining our EU-based socio-economic model and values.
As a European SME, we at SPOTTERON have been active in successfully funded Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects for years now. With our core values aligning strongly with the vision of Horizon Europe's goals and also the European Green Deal, we bring innovation and digital interactive tools for public engagement and Citizen Science to partnerships, as well as EU-centric technology and extended privacy and data protection ethics beyond the basic requirements of the GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation). Furthermore, we develop innovative solution for data interoperability, AI Integration, as well as dissemination support and science communication as tasks in work packages. As support for the proposal stage, we also assist with graphic design of elements, like the project logo, visualizations, or charts and figures to convey quality to the reviewer also on a visual level.

The current call for proposals, "Cluster 6 Call 01 – single stage," encompasses single-stage topics in the fields of biodiversity, circular economy and bioeconomy, and tackling environmental pollution with a timeframe of 2025 - 2027.
Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment
The aim of research, development and innovation in Cluster 6 is to expand knowledge, build capacity and develop innovative solutions in these relevant areas. This includes, in particular, the transition to a sustainable circular economy and the use of natural resources, as well as food security for all.
Research and development for a healthy planet
The European strategic plan for Cluster 6 'Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment' expects the following impacts:
- Climate neutrality and adaptation to climate change
- Preservation or restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems
- sustainable and circular management of natural resources; combating environmental pollution; bioeconomy;
- food and nutrition security for all through sustainable food systems from farm to fork;
- balanced development of rural, coastal and urban areas;
- innovative governance models that enable sustainability and environmental monitoring.
