Let's meet Citizen Science! Episode 2 - Austrian Mycological Society ÖMG

During the "Long Night of Research" (Lange Nacht der Forschung) in Vienna Austria at the Museum of Natural History (NHM) we met with Irmgard Greilhuber from the Citizen Science project Mycodata by the Austrian Mycological Society ÖMG. Irmgard is presenting the project and how Citizen Scientists can participate by submitting observations of mushrooms and fungi.

For us, fungi are one of the most fascinating things in our environment. Neither plant nor animal they represent their own kingdom and are present almost everywhere - from outdoor areas like forests to even within our own fridge. If you want to spot mushrooms and send your Citizen Science observations in for research in Austria, Europe, there are good news: the project Mycodata is also switching to the SPOTTERON Citizen Science platform during this summer, so stay tuned for more news!
